Invitation to an exhibition or the works of internationalfelters “Fairytale Felt

19 recognised felters from the USA, Holland, Norway,England, Switzerland, and Denmark exhibit their finest works. The fairytaletapestry of the felt association Grima will also be shown

The Symposium is open to the public on Wednesday 6th July in the hall. It starts with a fashion show at 19o'clock. After this there will be a participants’ market.

The dealers will be there.

Felt in Focus
International felting course
From 3rd to 9th July 2011 in Denmark.

In 2009 a felting symposium was arranged in Denmark. It was a great success; therefore we have started arranging another felting symposium to be made in 2011.

Felting has developed very much since it started in the 1970s and 80s. Today felting has been established as art and handicraft all over the world. Denmark is in the front row, and it is now time for us to organise yet another international arrangement about felting.

A group of active felters have therefore planned another gathering for felters from all over the world: “Felt in Focus”

The background of Felt in Focus

Organising an international course for mutual inspiration and continued development of the handicraft as well as stimulating the interest in shaping and forming felt.

At Felt in Focus courses will be offered of two times two 7-hour days with 12 themes.

The instruction will be given by teachers from different countries.

The instruction language will predominantly be English.

There will be a number of providers of material every day.

Besides there will be a fashion show with the creations of the participants, a market, excursions to museums and felting exhibitions at Funen.

Felt in Focus will be with courses, accommodation and food from 3rd to 9th July 2011 at Glamsdalens Idrætsefterskole, DK-5620 Glamsbjerg, Denmark.

We hope that the environment among the felters will encourage development of good ideas, experimental felting and social contacts.

In the evening the workshops are available for all participants.
